Canada is rebooting its AI playbook. At Montreal’s All In Conference, AI Minister Evan Solomon announced a 20-member task force with 30 days to recommend how the country can sharpen its competitive edge. Priorities: research, commercialization, adoption, safety, skills, infrastructure.
Ottawa’s past strategy seeded Mila, Vector, and Amii, and last year’s $2B investment boosted compute and launched an AI Safety Institute. Now, Solomon promises new measures to help startups raise capital and win federal contracts. Task force members will be revealed Friday, with public consultations starting October.
