Foresight Canada Names 2025 Cleantech 50 in Calgary

Foresight Canada, the country’s largest cleantech accelerator, unveiled its 2025 Foresight 50 list in Calgary last night, recognizing 50 of Canada’s most investible cleantech ventures. All honourees are first-time recipients—an unprecedented milestone reflecting the depth of Canada’s innovation pipeline.

Since 2021, past Foresight 50 companies have raised more than $2.6 billion in capital. The ventures featured this year are tackling industrial decarbonization, carbon capture, waste-to-value systems, and climate resilience. With the global clean energy market projected to triple to $2 trillion by 2035, these firms are positioning Canada to lead the global energy transition and economic diversification.

Leadership Change at Canada’s Cleantech Accelerator

Jeanette Jackson is stepping down after seven years as CEO of Foresight Canada. Under her leadership, Foresight became a national cleantech force. Jackson will remain on the board and serve as a strategic advisor. David Sanguinetti, former COO and VP of Technology, becomes Interim CEO.

A cleantech veteran with global experience, Sanguinetti brings industry insight and personal sustainability to the role. He will lead a distributed executive team from Calgary, Toronto, Kelowna, and Vancouver. With strong leadership in place, Foresight remains focused on accelerating cleantech innovation across Canada.

Foresight Canada Targets Housing Crisis with Innovation

Alberta Cleantech Leaders Honoured at Inventures

Each exemplifies Alberta’s shift from industrial legacy to sustainable leadership. Dow’s $6.5B Path2Zero hydrogen project and ERA’s strategic $55M in funding reflect large-scale commitment to emissions reduction. CRIN’s support for late-stage tech commercialization and Ayrton’s hydrogen storage innovation underline ecosystem strength. “You represent Alberta’s future-proof economy,” said Foresight CEO Jeanette Jackson.

Open Letter Calls for Bold Clean Economy Action

With a federal election approaching, Vancouver-based Foresight Canada is urging political leaders to make cleantech central to Canada’s economic strategy. In an open letter released this week, the innovation accelerator outlines three key priorities: fast-tracking domestic adoption of Canadian cleantech, boosting productivity through innovation, and positioning Canada as a global clean economy leader.

The organization cites strong sectoral impact—$2.24 billion raised, 9,000 jobs created, and high returns on investment. “Canada has the talent and technology,” the letter states. “What we need now is the political will.” Foresight is encouraging Canadians to sign the letter ahead of campaign season.

Foresight Canada Opens 2025 Cleantech Awards Nominations

Canada’s Foresight 50: Top Cleantech Ventures Recognized
