Toronto startup Tilt just raised $7.1M to make direct indexing mainstream. The AI-driven platform—debuted at Portage’s Confluence—lets advisors and RIAs build scalable, zero-minimum indices with real-time tax optimization at three basis points. Backers include Portage, Lerer Hippeau, Golden Ventures, Real Ventures, Cumberland, and FJ Labs.
Tilt’s embedding engine constantly analyzes SEC filings, news, and social signals to surface insights for rebalancing and new products. CEO Andrew Peek says it’s about giving investors hyper-personalized portfolios that reflect their values and beliefs. Funds will scale teams and fintech integrations.
