Google has blocked Jim Balsillie from speaking at the Canadian RegTech Association (CRTA) Annual Summit, scheduled for Friday at Google Canada’s Toronto headquarters. Balsillie, BlackBerry co-founder and critic of Google, was set to deliver the keynote address. CRTA board member Paul Childerhose expressed frustration over this development, emphasizing its impact on the neutral, not-for-profit trade association.
Balsillie has previously challenged Google on various issues, including the abandoned Sidewalk Labs project. Google spokesperson Shay Purdy stated the company preferred other speakers for the event.
