The Ontario government has announced an investment of up to $77 million in two projects aimed at fostering the adoption and development of critical technologies in the province. The funding will be allocated to the Vector Institute for Artificial Intelligence and the Ontario Centre of Innovation (OCI).
Through the Critical Technology Initiatives program, OCI will receive up to $50 million to launch innovative programming benefiting small and medium-sized businesses in sectors such as mining, agri-food, and advanced manufacturing.
The Vector Institute will receive up to $27 million to facilitate collaborations between companies and AI experts, accelerating the responsible adoption of ethical AI.
