As automation and AI reshape the accounting profession, Dext is expanding its North American presence under General Manager Joanne Modugno, a Toronto-based fintech leader with experience at CIBC and Visa. Canada remains one of the company’s strongest markets, with 45,000 SMB customers, 1,800 firm partners, and 34 million documents processed annually.
Dext plans to launch payments capabilities in 2026 through its partnership with Airwallex, completing end-to-end AP workflows. The company is also advancing agentic AI and tools like Dext Vault to automate routine bookkeeping. Modugno says these innovations will shift accountants toward advisory roles.
