The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) has filed an appeal notice with the Alberta Court of Appeal. This comes after Honourable Justice J.S. Little dismissed APEGA’s request for an injunction against Getty Images and Jobber, related to the use of the title “engineer.”
APEGA is concerned that the court’s interpretation of the Engineering and Geoscience Professions Act could lead to an increased and potentially misleading use of the title “engineer.” They argue that this may compromise public safety and professional integrity. APEGA CEO Jay Nagendran emphasizes the importance of maintaining public trust in the engineering profession.
