A Toronto firm founded by former executives from Tesla, Uber, Facebook, and Sidewalk Labs is launching the first-ever vertically integrated city transit system in Canada. This solution from Argo Corporation provides on-demand, door-to-door service, enhancing public transit by integrating custom software with vehicle hardware. The system aims to reduce road traffic and improve accessibility to jobs, healthcare, and education.
“Mobility within and across our cities is the lifeblood of our economies and social fabric,” stated Argo cofounder Praveen Arichandran. “With road traffic set to get significantly worse in the coming years and decades, it’s critical that we take cars off the road by making public transit the most convenient way to get around.”
