McMaster University and Celesta Capital have forged a strategic partnership to bolster Canada’s deep tech ecosystem.
Announced at “Partnering to Accelerate Deep Tech Commercialization in Canada,” this alliance aims to commercialize intellectual property and empower startups. It includes pitch competitions, mentorship through the McMaster Entrepreneurship Academy, and ecosystem development initiatives.
This collaboration will utilize Celesta’s expertise in deep tech venture capital, enhancing McMaster’s role as a leading research institution. McMaster President David Farrar and Celesta’s Nicholas Brathwaite, a McMaster alumnus, highlighted the partnership’s potential in advancing Canadian innovation. Initial steps include a joint pitch competition and a Silicon Valley residency.
