NorthX Invests $2.2M in Wildfire Tech

April 16, 2026 by Newsdesk

NorthX Climate Tech has committed $2.2 million in follow-on funding to three British Columbia companies developing wildfire technologies. The recipients—CRWN.ai, Nova, and Skyward Wildfire Technologies—are advancing solutions for early detection, monitoring, and prevention. CRWN.ai focuses on power line risk detection, Nova provides AI-driven wildfire intelligence, and Skyward targets lightning-caused ignitions.

NorthX said the investments aim to scale field-tested technologies as wildfire risks increase. Since 2021, the organization has invested more than $50 million in climate innovation projects. Officials emphasized the importance of deploying proven tools to mitigate growing environmental and infrastructure threats.
