NorthX Pours $1.6M Into Energy Storage Startups

September 24, 2025 by Newsdesk

NorthX Climate Tech is betting big on storage, putting $1.6M into three Canadian innovators: Aqua-Cell Energy, FUTURi Power, and Foreseeson Technology. Aqua-Cell is piloting its saltwater long-duration battery in Victoria, FUTURi is turning EVs and batteries into grid-ready assets, and Foreseeson is pairing responsive storage with DC fast charging.

“This is the future,” said B.C. Minister Adrian Dix, praising the NorthX-BC Hydro partnership driving the program. NorthX has now funded 68 projects worth $41.2M, expected to spark 850 jobs and $425M in follow-on capital.
