Moment Energy is building a new Surrey facility it says will become the world’s largest certified second-life battery repurposing site. Announced at Web Summit Vancouver, the project is expected to reach full operations by the end of June 2026 and scale to 1 GWh of capacity by 2030.
The facility will create more than 100 skilled jobs and support energy storage demand from data centres, utilities, and industrial customers. Moment repurposes retired electric vehicle batteries into commercial storage systems, extending material life while supporting power resiliency and domestic clean energy infrastructure.
