Pennsylvania startup InductEV, which makes wireless charging pads for vehicles, is seeking to enter the Canadian market through partnerships, such as an emerging collaboration with Toronto’s Ramco, an electrical contractor.
It is one example of Canada being a “perfect fit” for the deployment of self-charging electric vehicles, according to one expert in the field, who anticipates trial deployments of such technology as soon as next year. The country’s opportunity to be “a new frontier” for this innovation lies at the intersection of major bus makers like Nova Bus and Lion Electric, idle-heavy routes, and a climate that negatively impacts battery performance.
