Compugen Taps AXL to Advance Applied AI

Compugen, Canada’s largest privately owned technology solution provider, formed a strategic collaboration with Toronto venture studio AXL to accelerate applied artificial intelligence commercialization. The arrangement gives Compugen customers access to elite AI researchers, rapid prototyping, and a venture setting built to test viability before scale.

Compugen will channel customer and internal opportunities into AXL’s research to product pipeline, sometimes inviting clients to participate directly. President and chief executive Harry Zarek said the partnership explores operational challenges for value, while AXL chief executive Daniel Wigdor cited insight to validate solutions.

Venture Studio and Consulting Firm Join AI Forces

AXL, a Canadian venture studio focused on turning applied AI research into high-growth companies, has partnered with consulting firm Dillon Consulting Limited. The collaboration aims to co-develop AI solutions that enhance workflows in planning, management, engineering, and environmental science.

Studies show 85% of AI projects in the sector stall due to fragmented data and poor integration. AXL CEO Dr. Daniel Wigdor says the venture bridges Canada’s “go-to-market gap” by using Dillon’s client insights. Dillon CEO Sean Hanlon emphasizes practical AI adoption to deliver measurable value. Together, they join AXL’s AI Catalyst program.

Dentons to Co-Develop AI Legal Startups with AXL

Dentons Canada and venture studio AXL have forged a strategic partnership to reshape the legal industry through artificial intelligence. Dentons will serve as AXL’s exclusive legal partner and preferred counsel for its AI startup portfolio. Led by Dr. Daniel Wigdor, AXL aims to launch 50 AI-driven firms, merging University of Toronto research with market needs.
