Clio, Svante, and Hiive Among BC Tech Award Winners

The BC Tech Association honoured ten standout innovators at the 2025 Technology Impact Awards held at Parq Vancouver. Clio claimed Gamechanger | Deal of the Year for its record-setting USD $900M investment, one of Canada’s largest private financings. Other Gamechanger winners included This Fish (Industry Innovation), Animikii (Company Culture), SenseNet (Climate Leadership), and Global Relay (Artificial Intelligence).

In Company of the Year categories, Insporos, Hypercharge, Hiive, Svante, and Apply Digital were recognized for excellence in biotech, EV infrastructure, private-market trading, carbon capture, and digital services. The gala marked 31 years of celebrating B.C.’s innovation leadership.

BC Tech Unveils 2025 TIAs Finalists

BC Tech has named 43 finalists across 10 categories for its 2025 Technology Impact Awards, recognizing excellence in British Columbia’s tech sector. A new category—Gamechanger: Deal of the Year—honours five major transactions that brought $3 billion in investment to the province.

“We’re building globally competitive anchor companies,” said BC Tech CEO Jill Tipping. Tech now contributes 8% of B.C.’s GDP and jobs. The Company of the Year – Startup finalists will pitch at Dragon’s Den Pitch Night, presented by Electronic Arts. Winners across all categories will be announced at the TIAs gala on October 23 at Parq Vancouver.

BC Tech Honors Innovators at Annual TIAs

The BC Tech Association hosted its 31st annual Technology Impact Awards (TIAs) gala at the Parq Vancouver, celebrating excellence in British Columbia’s tech sector. The event honored winners across nine categories, highlighting remarkable contributions to the industry. Jane won Company of the Year (Anchor), while RaceRocks took home the award for Excellence in Company Culture.

Oxygen8 was recognized as Company of the Year (Scale), with DarkVision winning the Gamechanger award for Ambition. Other notable winners included 7Gen for Climate Leadership and TRIUMF for Industry Innovation. The TIAs continue to showcase BC’s tech excellence and growth.
