Canadian Workforce Faces Potential Exodus, Particularly Amongst Gen Z and Millennials

October 12, 2023 by Newsdesk

A significant workforce exodus may loom in Canada, as a quarter of employees consider quitting in the next year, particularly Gen Z and millennials, states the EY 2023 Work Reimagined Survey.

Employers underestimate labor market fluidity, as 57% believe economic slowdown will retain staff, but only 40% of employees concur.

Pay ranks third on employers’ concerns, though it’s a top worry for 40% of workers. The perception gap extends to remote work allure.

Meanwhile, generative AI gains traction, but a training gap on related skills remains, emphasizing the need for workforce empowerment.
