Rockwell Automation has inked a deal to acquire Kitchener’s Clearpath Robotics. This move will bolster Rockwell’s position in the realm of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for industrial applications.
Clearpath’s OTTO Motors Division offers AMRs and fleet management and navigation software that complements Rockwell’s existing strengths in fixed robotic arms and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
The strategic acquisition aligns with market growth projections of AMRs in manufacturing, estimated at $6.2 billion by 2027. It’s expected to contribute significantly to Rockwell’s fiscal 2024 revenue growth. The integration aims to simplify material handling in manufacturing plants and optimize operations across industries.
