Shakudo Raises Funding, Heads to Silicon Valley

February 17, 2026 by Newsdesk

Toronto startup Shakudo just raised US$7 million to help companies actually use AI, not just experiment with it. Backed by Wittington Ventures and existing investors, the company builds software that lets teams run large language models and AI agents inside their own systems instead of sending data to outside clouds.

That matters most in regulated sectors like finance and healthcare. Even Loblaw’s digital arm already uses the platform. Next up: a San Francisco office and broader global push. By leaning on open-source tools, Shakudo also promises lower AI costs for enterprises adopting the technology.

Shakudo Raises $9.5 Million in Series A Funding to Revolutionize AI Product Launches

July 5, 2023 by Newsdesk

Toronto-based startup Shakudo has secured $9.5 million CAD in Series A funding to assist companies in quickly and cost-effectively launching artificial intelligence (AI) products.

Shakudo aims to help firms leverage the abundance of new data and AI tools without being tied to a single vendor or set of offerings. The company plans to use the funding to expand into enterprise generative AI, which has shown significant demand from both new and existing customers.

Shakudo, founded in 2021 by AI experts from Georgian Partners, Borealis AI, and BMO, offers an end-to-end platform that enables enterprise data science and machine learning teams to design, develop, test, and deploy AI products.
