Shopify Merchants Gain Direct Access to Temu Marketplace

Temu has launched a new app allowing Shopify merchants to list and manage products on Temu directly from their Shopify accounts. Available through the Shopify App Store, the app provides access to Temu’s Local Seller Program across more than 30 markets, including Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, and Australia.

Merchants can synchronize product catalogs, manage inventory, and coordinate fulfillment from a single interface. Temu introduced its Local Seller Program in 2024 to support in-market fulfillment and faster delivery. The company said the integration lowers operational barriers and helps businesses reach new customers without building separate infrastructure.

Temu Expands in Canada with Local-to-Local Sales

China’s e-commerce giant Temu is strengthening its Canadian presence with a new local-to-local model. Launched in Canada in 2023, Temu became the country’s most-downloaded iPhone app in 2024. Now, it will allow Canadian businesses with local inventory to sell directly to Canadian consumers, aiming to improve delivery speeds and expand offerings.

Globally, Temu’s growth is staggering—ranking #2 in Similarweb’s e-commerce rankings, recording 185.6 million U.S. users in August, and surpassing 900 million total downloads by December. The local-to-local model will also roll out in major markets, including the U.S., the U.K., Germany, and Japan.

E-Commerce Giant Temu Leads Canada’s App Charts

Temu has emerged as Canada’s most downloaded iPhone app of 2024, according to Apple’s newly released App Store data. It is the only e-commerce app in Canada’s top 15 free app rankings.

Launched in Canada in February 2023, Temu enabled faster deliveries by connecting sellers to local warehouses, allowing customers to receive products in as little as one business day. Globally, Temu ranks #1 in Canada and 23 other countries, including the U.S., UK, and Germany. Since its 2022 U.S. launch, Temu’s direct-from-factory model has fueled its rapid global expansion across 80+ markets.
