Victoria’s VoxCell BioInnovation won the final Collision PITCH competition, besting Biofect Innovations and Proceve. VoxCell revolutionizes 3D bioprinting with a bioink kit mimicking natural soft tissue, enabling faster drug testing. The company focuses on printing human-like cancer tissues.
“VoxCell has created the first bio-printed human-like cancer tissue models for early drug efficacy testing,” said Asees Kaur, business operations coordinator. Founded in 2020 by Karolina Valente, inspired by her mother’s cancer battle, VoxCell aims to reduce chemotherapy drug failure rates. The startup is expanding into neurodegenerative diseases. The rise of bootstrapped startups was notable at this year’s Collision.
