Federal Ministers today announced the conclusion of negotiations for a Technology Safeguards Agreement between Canada and the United States. The TSA establishes legal and technical safeguards for handling sensitive U.S. technology. This agreement reportedly will enable the use of U.S. space launch technology in Canada, which the government says will foster growth in our commercial space launch industry and encourage innovation.
“The conclusion of negotiations between Canada and the United States means that we are one step closer to finalizing this agreement, which, when in force, will position our country to be a global leader in commercial space launch,” stated Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs.
