TELUS Study: Gen Z Sees AI as Key to Education

A new TELUS study finds that Gen Z, North America’s first “AI generation,” is leading the adoption of artificial intelligence—especially in education. Nearly half of Gen Z respondents in Canada (46%) and the U.S. (45%) support AI in classrooms, citing benefits such as accessibility and personalized learning.

TELUS Chief Data & Trust Officer Pam Snively said AI will enhance education but also demand new teaching approaches emphasizing creativity and critical thinking. Despite optimism, concerns persist: 90% of Canadian Gen Z worry about AI’s societal impact, while 48% fear job loss through automation.
