Three Canadian cities made it onto PitchBook’s latest list of the 50 most developed startup hubs worldwide. Toronto led among the Canadian cities, securing the 28th position, with Vancouver at 38th and Montreal at 47th. San Francisco topped the list, followed by New York, Beijing, Shanghai, and Los Angeles.
The rankings were based on venture capital raised, along with the number and value of exits from mid-2017 to mid-2023. With 20 cities from the U.S. and 11 from China, the list showed the dominance of these two countries. PitchBook aims to update this dashboard every six months to guide investors and founders.
