WestJet and TELUS Announce Partnership to Provide Free Inflight Internet

WestJet and TELUS have launched a multi-year partnership to provide fast and free internet onboard WestJet aircraft, powered by Starlink. This collaboration sets a new standard in Canadian airline inflight connectivity. John Weatherill, WestJet’s Executive VP and Chief Commercial Officer, announced that the service will be available to WestJet Rewards members at no cost.

Zainul Mawji, TELUS Executive VP, highlighted the enhanced flying experience this partnership will bring. WestJet will be the first commercial Boeing 737 airline in North America to offer Starlink’s high-speed, low-latency internet. The installation will begin in late 2024, with completion targeted by 2026.
