Anthropic’s AI chatbot, Claude, is now available in Canada. Canadians can access Claude via its web-based interface, iPhone app, secure workspace, and API for integration into apps and software products. The paid version offers access to all Claude models, five times more usage than the free version, and early access to new features for $28 per month.
Marketed as a safety-conscious alternative to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Claude is trained on publicly available and licensed data. Notably, Jan Lieke, former co-head of OpenAI’s safety team, has joined Anthropic. Canada has been slower to gain access to AI chatbots like Google’s Gemini, which launched in the country seven months after its global rollout.
