A new economic impact assessment reveals that the merged entity of Rogers and Shaw contributed a record $14 billion to Canada’s GDP in 2023, following their union on April 3, 2023. This merger, which marked a significant expansion in Rogers’ operations, particularly in Western Canada, supported 92,000 jobs nationwide.
The impact on the GDP of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba tripled from $1.5 billion in 2021 to $4.6 billion in 2023. Additionally, the company paid $3.5 billion in government taxes, fees, and spectrum licensing. Rogers and Shaw have historically reinvested 90% of their profits back into Canada, culminating in over $40 billion over the last decade.
