Rivian Vans Hit the Road as Amazon Goes Green

Amazon Canada has deployed its first fleet of electric delivery vans, marking a major step toward its 2040 net-zero goal. Fifty custom-built Rivian vehicles are now operating across Greater Vancouver, based out of the company’s Delta delivery station. “It’s tremendously exciting to launch our first major decarbonization initiative,” said Eva Lorenz, VP and Country Manager at Amazon Canada.

The vans feature 360-degree visibility, adaptive cruise control, and real-time integration with Amazon’s logistics system. Partnering with local Delivery Service Partners, Amazon plans to deploy 100,000 Rivian EDVs globally by 2030, cutting millions of tons of carbon emissions.

Rivian to Open First Canadian Rivian Space Showroom

Rivian will be opening its first Rivian Space showroom later this month at British Columbia.

In addition to having an R1 on display and demo drive availability, the Burnaby location will be a first to use augmented reality to provide customers with a look at any configurations they choose digitally.

Rivian will be expanding their retail footprint throughout 2023 and 2024 with the introduction of different Spaces formats, ranging from product-focused experience sites, like Burnaby, to more unique locations, such as a historic former cinema in Laguna Beach, California which is being completely restored.

The Rivian Space at The Amazing Brentwood opens on July 28th and will also feature bespoke merchandise designed for the B.C. market.
